Question

Does antique car insurance factor in the future of the investment?

Is an adjuster an antiques dealer? Otherwise, how can he possibly assess the value of my antique vehicle?

  1. Sean Graham says:

Antique car insurance does not normally factor in appreciation of an investment. Antique vehicles are normally insured according to a recent appraisal value. If your vehicle appreciates after it has already initially been appraised and insured, it would be wise to have it re-appraised and insured for the new value.

Adjusters are generally qualified to assess these types of values and damage to these types of collectibles. However, they rely on the appraised value to dictate the payout on a total loss.
